An Unlikely Convert

This is a thought provoking video by Rosaria Butterfield, a highly educated woman that embraced the homosexual lifestyle until Christianity got in her way.

Many of the points she makes are focused around her growth from a homosexuality centered life to a Christian centered life; however if you cross out homosexuality and replace it with sin, her talk can apply equally to anyone.

Looking at the Numbers

Christian denominations are seeing more and more empty pews; as a percent of population both membership and attendance is down and is continuing to go down. This trend started in the 1960’s and has not stopped. The question . . .  is, ‘how are the more liberal, socially acceptable churches doing as compared to the more conservative, less socially acceptable ones?’

Heading Down A Dead End

According to Jeffery Walton, another rapidly declining part of the United Methodist Church has added itself to the list of annual conferences supporting abortion and the promotion of homosexuality at the same time it moved ahead with a plan to dissolve itself out of existence.

Grace and Truth Paradox

The Bible has many references to Grace and Truth. One verse is John 1:14: The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

These two elements, Grace and Truth, are in a constant state of tension within every Christian; too much of either one will lead to a Christian life that is crooked and does not reflect God’s desire.

Randy Alcorn has an interesting article on this topic, taken from his book, The Grace and Truth Paradox. Here is a link to that article.
